China Precision Engineering Institute for Aircraft Industry (CPEI) was founded in 1961. It is a comprehensive institute specialized in applying technique research. CPEI has nearly 800 employees; Half of them are technicians, of which about 120 are professors or senior engineers.

CPEI is mainly engaged in the exploration and application of the manufacturing technology for air-borne equipment, and in the development of civilian dedicated machining equipment, of precision measuring technology and equipment, and of automatic production line and associated equipment, etc. The main research and development activities of the institute are:

Through 40 years development, CPEI is now very famous for its precision/ ultra-precision machining technology & capability in China.
